Continuing fishing! Most days on the boat aren't so bad, but it's not uncommon to not get to go to sleep until midnight, then need to be up between 5 and 6 in the morning for more work. All the food is of Wisconson farmer construction, so it's just bricks of grease and cheese :( The weather is about what you'd expect from this part of Alaska: occasionally nice, but i'm usually wearing layers and seeing my breath... i't's JULY! Our haul for June was about 10,000lbs which sounds good until you realise that by the end of August we need to get to around 200,000lbs! I did some math and it looks like I worked through June at 70cents an hour. Great. The work can be quite physically demanding at times and many times a day, everyday, I am stung in the face by jellyfish. Yesterday I was stung in the eyeball! The only good thing to come from that situation is that I was forced to get a hat that a girl on our sister boat decorated quit impresivly. Usually we're all out fishing, but occasionally we get a break were we can go to an island to hang out or something. The two most fun of which resulted in me cliff/rock jumping into the ocean and a Solstice party. The other day we caught a whale, not on purpose, that wound up tearing a 140ft hole in our net, along with several slightly smaller holes. That put us out of comission for a couple days, but we're back on track!
