Long story, I'll write more in depth about it in the Chronicles later, but the short version is I got my Jaw and Teeth broken while training, less than 2 weeks before the USA Kudo tournament, preventing my entry or travel. The incident was nothing cool, just doing some agility drills and a nice guy who out weighs me by about 40 pounds wound up running fill tilt into the side of my jaw while my head was turned and it broke clean through and took some teeth with it. I went to 3 medical plazas and 14 dental practices without being seen, until finally a trauma dentist was able to see me on day 3 confirming the damage. He said “This is a one in a billion chance break, if you had been looking anywhere else, or your speeds had been different... if anything had been different, you would be fine. You might be the most unlucky man I have ever seen!” So I'm told. I wound up going 5 days with a broken jaw and teeth without treatment before the “emergency” surgeon could see me. I didn't have insurance so I had to stay awake while he pulled the shards out...the anesthetic didn't work. I was to be on liquids only for 8 weeks. At my first checkup he said I had healed in 3 and a half weeks what normally takes 8, so I was granted to the go-ahead to resume chewing. Now I'm trying to get my plans for the year back on track...
