Back in Japan! Not all went well when I first got here, surprising no one. First up, I am staying in a guest house that is actually pretty slummy. The land lord wasnt there to check me in, and the room I had reserved (explanation for why later) had been occupied by some lady for several months. I had already paid half the rent to reserve the place, so now I was stuck. The guy didnt respond to emails, and didnt answer the phone. Luckily for me, I wandered around the place and found an empty room with a key inside, so just moved in and took the key and called it a day. Why not sneak into a place to stay? No change from the usual. Too bad I had already paid half the rent! Its been a couple weeks now, and nothing TOO bad has happened. Training is going great:
Last friday was impromptu (for me) inter-group sparring at Shinjuku Dojo, then Saturday was heavy competitive fighter training for over 4 hours at Shinjuku Dojo. Sunday was the inter-university fight club (like an ice cream social with more bone bruises). Monday was 9 hours of hiking with some runs mixed in. Tuesday I hit up the Kudo honbu dojo (they were closed! I emailed them but am still awaiting a response) wednesday was training at Shinjuku again, followed by thursday at Shimotakaido, Friday at Choufu, and back to Saturday for Competitive fighter training again. Averaging at least 5 hours of training a day, typically more. What do I do in my few spare hours? Pop Idol. Obviously. Also obvious? The song is Bon Jovis living on a prayer!
